The 83rd Annual Academy Awards is always good fodder for the fashion critics. There were some hits and some misses on the red carpet Sunday night, as well as many style and beauty trends. Let’s breakdown the trends:

  • Hair & Makeup: Pony tails, smokey eyes
  • Gown styles: Trumpet and mermaid cuts
  • Colors: Brilliant reds, neutrals-gold/silver tones, purple and plums, electric and navy blues
  • Jewelry/Bling: Emeralds, more emeralds, and diamonds

The “Most Popular” award for the 83rd Academy Awards red carpet style mom class goes to: Armani Privé and L’Wren Scott  gowns, Jimmy Choo and Christian Louboutin shoes,  and Neil Lane for jewelry. All of the aforementioned designers were repeatedly spotted on red carpet. Now here’s our top Hollywood hot mamas at the Oscars and how they rocked the trends on the red carpet:

Natalie Portman (R) the Best Actress winner wears Rodarte with Tiffany & Co. jewels, Jimmy Choo shoes and a Roger Vivier rose gold clutch hand in hand with fiancee Benjamin Millepied. Scoop! –>Natalie’s dress was actually a replacement for the Galliano/Dior dress she originally picked out. It makes sense given the Dior designer’s recent run in with the law/accusations of anti-semetic rhetoric and Natalie being an Iraeli-American. However, we’re interested to see how things play out as Natalie is the spokesmodel for Miss Dior Cherie perfume.

Blue Belle

Amy Adams 2011 OscarsAmy Adams in L’Wren Scott also wins the “best in bling” award sporting $1.35 million worth of Cartier gems including a platinum, diamond and emerald haute joaillerie secret watch bracelet, worth $1.025 million. The bracelet features a 30.75-carat carved emerald and a total of 575 diamonds. WOW!! o_O Do you think she stressed out about losing one of those gems? lol
