Did you know that localized breast cancer, if detected early, is 98% curable? What a beacon of hope! That is living proof of the many years of spreading the word and painting the world pink every October is paying off in big ways, but let’s not get complacent. Even though the mortality rate continues to fall due to better treatments, early detection and greater awareness, the American Cancer Society estimates that 1.3 million people (women AND men) worldwide are diagnosed with breast cancer.
