NYC New York Color has launched a line of cosmetics that will please any makeup aficionado.  Celebrity make-up artist Mathew Nigara, has worked with Jessica Simpson, Kate Winslet, and Marisa Tomei, and countless other celebrities, is the national make-up artist for NYC  Color.  Mathew shared that summer is a great time take more risk with color.  Nigara says to opt for a rich colored lipstick instead of the tried and true lip-gloss, and to be bold when applying eyeshadow going for brighter colors that don’t necessarily match the outfit that you’re wearing.  And his most noted beauty tip, to apply more blush!

I must say that I am very impressed with the way the color of this line wears, the vibrancy of the eyeshadow as well as the blush, lasted all day without touching up once.  I’ve tried all of the shadows, blush,  lip-gloss and lipstick.   One of the things that I like is, the light, creamy texture of the powder eyeshadow.  For an additional pop, I wet my angle brush and applied the shadow over the already colorific liner and created major eye drama.  I am not so fond of the mascara, as it is thick and clumpy.

However, the most important is the price point.  The line is available at CVS, Target, Walmart and Eckerds.  Unfortunately, you cannot order directly from the NYC Color website, and when you click on the link to the retailer that does sell the product, it does not take you directly to the NYC Color  page your must search.

Overall, this is a fun line that has something for the novice and the expert.

Celebrity makeup artist Mathew Nigara applying the Soho Spice City Duet colors on me.  What a treat! Mathew is fun, and informed us that we should have more fun with color.  He said to be daring and break out of the mold of matching color to our clothes.  But as you can see, I am old school! Besides, the rich, warm, vibrant blue was to gorgeous to pass up.  And, the it made my eyes sparkle.  I this palette!

The hors d’oeuvres were presented as lovely as the cosmetics.
