Many of you who read this blog or follow me on twitter, probably know that I love music and will rock out to anything from alternative/grunge/rock-n-roll to hip-hop and reggae. Earlier this summer, I took my little guy to a dance party Questlove of The Roots, and this time it was his older brother’s turn for a music outing. So I threw on my 7 for all Mankind jeans, black and silver Pumas, my favorite Wu-Tang t-shirt, and Prada messenger bag to get ready for a night of Gen-Y and Millenial mayhem with my teen son and his BFF. We headed to Philly for one of the last concerts on the Great Hangover Tour featuring Asher Roth, Kid Cudi and 88-Keys.

My son and his BFF had a blast hanging out backstage at the show. They even proclaimed this experience as the best part of their entire summer, and if they had to write a “what did you do for the summer” story, as they did in elementary school, the entire story would have been about this one night – (definite “cool mom points” collected for the rest of 2009 😉 ). Special thanks to my favorite music man and 88-Keys for making it all happen.

Here’s my Stylemom pics from all three artists to add to your ipod:

Asher Roth: refreshing to see a young man/artist with thought and purpose in his lyrics, check out the video for Just Listen (acapella)

Kid Cudi: This beat is hot, and makes you want to shake your a$$ – Cudi Spazzin’

88-Keys: Soulful, groovy, and the title is just perfect for this post 😉 – m.i.l.f.
