Paper Dolls On Steroids: Looklet.com

I’ve been a fan and user of Polyvore for quite sometime, and its ability to let you design almost anything from a room, to artwork and of course, fashion sets. The other day I discovered the new kid on the digital block, Looklet.com. Recently launched this past February, Looklet is a virtual styling studio where you can mix and match fashion to create your own personally styled looks.

The best part: you actually get to play stylist, choose the wardrobe, and dress a model to create a look that is as haute as an editorial photo from a fashion magazine! What more could a fashionista ask for?! Of course I couldn’t wait to give it a whirl, so here are a couple of looks I created for Stylemom:

Paper Dolls On Steroids: Looklet.com

Looklet.com is still in beta version and still growing the wardrobe database. I would love to see this site evolve to not just include different models of different ethnicities, but also different models with different body types more representative of real women. It would be an awesome way to style and shop if you could select a model of your body type, choose a model close to your skin tone/complexion, style your entire outfit, then click to purchase. Now that would be the utopia of online shopping!

Could this be what’s on the horizon for Fashion 3.0? Let’s keep our fingers crossed, and in the meantime, get your style on and create some looks at Looklet.com.

Each week until September 27th THREE SnazLers from the community will be chosen as the weekly Rockstar SnazLers for presenting the best SnazL Story. One will be picked as a Weekly Winner and win an iPod Touch. Each SnazL Stories week runs from Sunday to Friday. All three Rockstar SnazLers will be featured on 10 different top sites- the sites of the 8 featured bloggers, and e.l.f. Cosmetics, SnazL, and Skimbaco Lifestyle!

How to become a Rockstar SnazLer:

1. Create an account on SnazL
2. Make a snazL of cool stuff.
3. Click the blue “Schedule a snazL party” when you make a snazL or under SnazL Calendar so we know that you’ve entered.

Stylin' and Profilin' at Blogher 09

I definitely made a few memories with my first trip to the Blogher Conference in Chicago. From chatting with Tim Gunn, hanging with hottie rockstars, being caught in compromising positions, to pontificating about blackmail and swaghags, it was fantabulous meeting new folks and getting to see many of my twitter/blogger pals in living color. Many of my fellow bloganistas and Blogher buddies were definitely stylin’ and profilin’ at this years Blogher conference from head to toe:

Katja Presnal - Blogher 2009 (Katja of Skimbaco Lifestyle sexy & sassy in black satin dress ensemble complete with satin peep-toe heels by Coach. She was totally working the rockstar glam in her “Vivienne Westwood-esque” style.)

Nichelle of Stylemom & Audrey of Momgenerations (Stylemoms sqaured at the Hanes event – Nichelle and Audrey McClellan showing off her summers style in a strapless printed dress) This shirt sat in my closet all summer because I didn’t have the right undergarment until Bristols6 Nippies Natural saved the day! I highly recommend them, comfy and lasted all day!

Janice of 5 minutes for mom (5 minutes with Susan was just enough time to snap a pic of her sporting her “first lady” look in this fabulous cocktail dress with embellished belt and fitted trumpet sleeves)

STYLEMOM and Tim Gunn (Makin’ it work! With the fabulous Tim Gunn of Project Runway and Tide Total Care. In spite of feeling disheveled from running around from event to event, Tim said my outfit was very well put together and told me to keep up the good work – I gushed inside for like 3 hours…lol )
