Tales From The Laundry Room: The Good, Bad, And The Dirty

WiskLaundryTales Tales From The Laundry Room: The Good, Bad, And The Dirty

With back to school, comes a whole host of things as a fashion editor and mom. Not only am I scrambling to shop for school clothes and school supplies, but I also have little league football games and events, as well as planning for New York Fashion Week. I’m feeling anxiety even as I write this post! Between, school, football, and fashion week, the laundry room becomes total armageddon the first few weeks of September.

The many outfits I pull to wear to shows and events, my teen son’s gear, as well as the daily dirty, grass and mud-stained football gear of my little one.

With an insane schedule, I don’t have time to sit and scrub stains. So, when Wisk announced the release of  Wisk with Stain Spectrum™ Technology, I didn’t dread going to war in our laundry room as much, check out the release video:

It makes me think, when did laundry become such a production??! Remember the “gold old days”, when it seemed like the only stain most folks worried about was ring around the collar? lol!!

Be sure to check back for more Wisk Laundry Tales as we dig deep into the science of stains, and try to dig ourselves out of the beastly pile of laundry ;) .

About Wisk:
The Wisk brand has a rich history. Wisk was launched in 1956 as the first liquid laundry detergent and ultimate stain fighter. Wisk’s liquid form was incredibly innovative because it offered the convenience of pre-treating and washing without all of the hard work. Before the introduction of liquids, consumers pretreated stains by making pastes out of powder!
In 1968, the brand developed the extremely successful, “Ring Around the Collar” campaign that ran for over thirty years. This campaign capitalized on America’s frustration with those pesky collar stains, and made Wisk a household name synonymous with powerful cleaning. The Wisk “Ring Around the Collar” campaign won many awards, and even still has recall with consumers today!
In 2010, the makers of Wisk re-launched the brand. New Wisk features new packaging, a new formula, and a new advertising campaign focused on the Science of Stain Fighting. Wisk is about to change the way you look at stains forever! For more information, visit www.Wisk.com.

Every Mom Has Her Own Unique Chic: 1-800-Flowers Spot A Mom

Every Mom Has Her Own Unique Chic: 1 800 Flowers Spot A MomOn a gorgeous day in NYC, I headed over to Buckingham Hotel for the 1-800 Flowers “Spot A Mom” campaign kick off event. It was a warm and wonderful vibe as I entered the Penthouse atop the hotel. There were beautiful moms, some with their babies, fantabulous flowers, and a wonderful view of the city. The 1-800 Flowers and MWW team were exceptional hosts and created a welcoming, family-like atmosphere.

Already impressed by the passion of the members of this family-owned business, the CEO of 1-800 flowers, Jim McCann, delivered an even more impressive message that day: “…every mom is special and unique in her own way. Even if you can’t get them flowers or a gift (very recession conscious ;) ), send or make them a card, give them a call, do whatever you can to let them know how special they are….”

Spot A Mom’s mission: There are 82.5 million moms in the US. Our mission this Mother’s Day is to make sure no mother gets left behind.

Finally, I was able to spend some time with my fellow online mommy muses as well, including: Victoria Pericon (Veep Veep), Carol Cain (NY City Mama) and Lisa Perez (New York Chica) who had her precious babes in tow. We chatted and enjoyed the creative flower displays, delectable delights, yummy fruity spritzers, and some of us even created mini floral arrangements.

On our way out, we were able to select a Spot A Mom t-shirt  for ourselves and our mother, or a mom in our life. Each shirt had a different type of mom on the front and I chose “Mom of a Mom” for my mother. Which mom description do you think I chose for myself? Check out the different moms at 1-800 Flowers Spot A Mom and leave a comment and tell me your guess!

Styling at Barnes & Noble

So I just got back from Barnes & Noble for a fundraiser reading night for my youngest son’s elementary school. After coaxing him to participate, in spite of the fact that he was miffed that there was no pizza and games like his teacher said, I of course was drawn to a stylish display on the way towards checkout.

The Jonathan Adler for Barnes & Noble display sported some cool and stylish stationary, coffee mugs, notebooks and even umbrellas in the ever trendy robins egg blue and mocha color scheme. (sorry, accidentally deleted the full display pic from my phone trying to juggle child, books and handbag)

I really dig Jonathan’s Adler‘s interior design and am super excited to see what he’s created for Barbie’s Malibu House and the pink carpet 50th birthday bash in Malibu, CA on March 9th.
