Rockstar Mom Madonna Joins Forces With Iconix Brand Group And Mounts a Fashion Take Over

Our favorite rockstar mom, Madonna, is taking over fashion this year. The material girl has partnered with Iconix Brand Group, Inc. in a joint venture to form MG Icon. This partnership marks Madonna’s first joint venture endeavor into the branding industry. The partnership is starting off with a bang with initial fashion and accessory collaborations with Macy’s and Dolce & Gabbana. Madonna states:

“Joining forces with Iconix to bring my fashion ideas to consumers is very exciting for me. I look forward to working closely with Iconix to create and translate my vision and ideas for MG Icon.”

To kick off her fashion take over, Madonna and Guy Oseary have partnered with designer duo Dolce & Gabbana to create MDG, a super chic line of designer sunglasses . The MDG collection has been personally designed by Madonna with Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.

This should come as no surprise as Madonna was already the face of the Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2010 Ad Campaign, and will of course is the face of the MDG ads.

The collaboration is monumental as it is the first co-branded project Dolce and Gabbana have done in their career. The collection will retail from $248 to $289 and will be carried in all Dolce & Gabbana stores worldwide, plus the Sunglass Hut chain and select opticians. The MDG collection will debut during in May.

Later this summer, Madonna will continue her fashion take over with the launch of the “Material Girl” collection exclusively at Macy’s, for juniors this fall season. The Material Girl collection was inspired and designed in collaboration with Madonna and her daughter Lourdes.

Material Girl will be sold at approximately 200 Macy’s stores and online at Macys.com in August just in time for the back-to-school season. The best part, the collection is totally budget friendly as retail prices will range from $12.00 to $40.oo. Along with apparel, the line will also launch multiple categories including footwear, handbags, and jewelry.

We can’t wait to see the collection for Junior’s and really hope Madge and daughter create some fun and fashionable threads for the girls to go back to school in this fall.

The sweater hooded jacket in charcoal tweed paired with leggings and knee high boots was my favorite outfit for the fall season. The look is classically casual with a hint of sex appeal.

Understated Elegance
For an elegant contemporary look, Wenlan’s black strapless mini dress is also a season staple as its versatility adds variety to any women’s wardrobe. She chose to pair it with a large gold necklace adorned with colored beads. This sexy style is a holiday season must have.

Overall, Wenlan’s collection was simplistic but original, gothic but sexy, with a modernly hip edge.
Large chunky tops paired with skinny fit pants and leggings are what marked this collection and made it one of my favorites for the season. There are two words to sum up Wenlan’s fall/winter 2010 collection – effortlessly chic.

Vintage Luxe Returns To The Beach With Rosa Cha Fall 2010

One of the favorite beachwear designer brands of Naomi Campbell and style mom Heidi Klum, Rosa Cha hit the runways in São Paulo debuting their Fall 2010 collection. Reminiscent of vintage 1950′s glam, the collection had a very nostalgic appeal with corsets, high waist cuts, and sexy black lace, indicative of a retro-chic pin-up girl.

STYLEMOM Watch: Madonna for Dolce & Gabbana

Last spring and summer season, the rock star mom, Madonna, was the face  for the Louis Vuitton Ads. The folks at Louis Vuitton have since replaced the material girl with basically a younger version of Madonna, with gap teeth and all – model Lara Stone.

But we all know nothing will stop this diva, and she will forever be a proverbial fashion icon, so it was no surprise when Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana chose her to be the face of the Spring 2010 Dolce & Gabbana ad campaign. The campaign made it’s debut in Vanity Fair Italia this week. We’re totally digging on the Italian film-noir vibe photographer Steven Klein has created with this campaign, and we must give hot mom Madonna a “you go girl!” for showing off the “girls” quite tastefully ;) .
