Everyone in our house will be sending their letters to Santa through Macy’s this year. This holiday season, Macy’s BELIEVE campaign continues the tradition of giving back and is building upon last year’s holiday effort to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation®. Macy’s brings the spirit of “Believe” alive with a national Santa Tour, an honorary National Believe Day, a “Yes, Virginia” animated special, and the new TV commercial you may have already seen, featuring Queen Latifah.
Macy’s National Santa Tour
Following his celebratory kickoff of the holiday season in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Santa has just embarked on a whirlwind tour across America, to greet young boys and girls and to spread holiday joy.
National Believe Day / “Yes, Virginia” Animated Special December 11th
On Friday, December 11th, Macy’s will celebrate the first National Believe Day to recognize and reward acts of kindness and generosity from coast to coast. Also that day, CBS will premiere a new original animated family special called, “Yes, Virginia.” on Friday, December 11, at 8 p.m. ET. Check out the trailer here:
The nostalgic holiday campaign was inspired by the New York Sun’s famous “Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus” editorial from 1897 and includes letter-writing “Believe Stations” in Macy’s stores across the country. For each letter received, Macy’s will donate $1 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation (up to $1 million). So make sure when you take the kids to your nearest Macy’s to see Santa, don’t forget the letters!
